Ganesh Chaturthi, the eleven-day long festival which marks the birthday and the homecoming of Lord Ganesha is only a few days ahead and a lot of movement is happening around. You must have planned a lot for this year’s fest and must be too enthusiastic about bringing Bappa home. A festival which was originally celebrated by the Maharashtrian community is now a celebration event across the globe! Our Ganpati Bappa, also known as ‘Vighna Hartaa’ (problem-solver) has millions of devotees all over the world and now it even includes people from different nationalities.

It is not very clear that when this festival of 'Ganesh Chaturthi' started but it becomes a very major public event with the sponsorship of Shivaji after Mughal-Maratha wars and later on in the 19th century the freedom fighter Lokmanya Tilak revived it in his tenure.
