This is basically of thick silk with difference designs woven on it. Baluchari saree has a border which is again designed very nicely. These days stories from Ramayana and Mahabharata is woven on the pallus of Baluchari sarees which shows the deeply rotated tradition and culture of India. Besides this there is an amazing variety in Baluchari saree like Minakari, Swarnachari and so on. Murshidabad is also another place for Baluchari saree but the silk used here is of different texture.
